An eight-week group offering connection, exploration, and information to pregnant women
- Explore a woman's many emotional and spiritual transformations during pregnancy
- Recognize that motherhood means different things to different people, and deepen your awareness of what it means to you
- Heighten awareness of your ability to connect with your developing baby
- Learn mindfulness exercises and stress-reduction techniques for pregnancy and beyond
- Connect with other pregnant women with an interest in building and strengthening relationships
Leaps and Bounds
An eight-week group exploring infant and toddler physical and emotional development
- Learn about developmental milestones in children ages birth to five years
- Explore the concept of play as a child's natural means of expression and communication, and learn to foster age-appropriate development in children through the medium of play
- Discover the connection between parenting styles, attachment, and infant emotional and physical development
- Gain a basic understanding of infant mental health, and how to promote emotional well-being in your child
- Learn ways to recognize if development is delayed, and obtain resources to promote age-appropriate development if necessary
More than Just the Baby Blues
An eight-week group focusing on the understanding and management of Postpartum Mood Disorders
- Explore the changing moods, feelings, and emotions related to becoming a new mother
- Learn how hormone changes and brain chemistry can effect your moods and level of functioning
- Learn to recognize when mood changes are more than just the baby blues
- Learn how Postpartum Mood Disorders can impact the relationship between mother and baby, and mother and partner, and why it is important to address these issues
- Decrease the very common feelings of stigma and shame around having a Postpartum Mood Disorder
- Learn strategies to help improve mood and functioning
- Connect with others sharing similar experiences, and gain knowledge of resources in the community to help address these concerns
